Eliot B. Gersten
Partner Eliot B. Gersten focuses his practice on complex litigation involving individuals and companies engaged in disputes.
Eliot has experience handling commercial and business torts, insurance coverage disputes, construction and waste industry litigation, white collar crime, and government investigations, including the representation of clients in administrative proceedings before the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communications Commission. Although Eliot is an accomplished litigator, he is equally adept at helping clients resolve their disputes quickly and efficiently through the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques such as mediation and arbitration, where applicable.
Born in 1952 in Hartford, Connecticut, Eliot received his B.A. from The George Washington University and his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law. He is a member of the Hartford County Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, and he is also a member of the American Association for Justice. Eliot is admitted to the Connecticut Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Eliot is active outside the office, and devotes a great deal of time as a board and executive committee member of the Hartford Arts Council.
Eliot is married with three daughters and is an avid squash player.
